Just ate there. Service, Food and price were A1!!! Highly reccomend!!!

I ate at Velma's last summer while in town for the Avril Lavine Concert, my kids were amazed at the Food, the portions were quite large and the food was exquisite!! Made me feel proud that tourists would definately not be able to find fault with such a fine establishment! The staff was super friendly , the atmosphere was fantastic but the Food was definately the highlight!!! Home fries, homemade fresh bread, what more could you ask for? I took pictures and wish there was a spot to post them as it would be all the advertisement needed!

We were a party of 8 and everything was so good, the Fish & Chips was the best I ever had in the City. The hot beef and Club sandwiches are made with homemade bread, and the wings were awesome!! Will be back for sure next time I visit St. John's.

Was at velma's today for Lunch, Both of us had their Luncheon Special, Beef Stew,,,,,Excellent! Highly recommend to anyone!

I & a Friend ate dinner at velma's, on holiday back in Sept. 2008. She had the Cod Au Gratin & I the Scallops. Excellent, Beautifly prepared & a Good value! I'd recommend Her to anyone

Best Newfoundland food in the area. I have never been disappointed there. My Mom came for a visit and just loved the salmon - still raving about it years later.

If you want a late Sunday breakfast, you may want to request that it be cooked now, otherwise you get dried-up leftover food. Yuck. I won't be back!
